« I am fascinated with the process of metamorphosis- its violence and beauty.

The transformation, the passage from a state of body and of consciousness into a new one,  has moulded and inspired my vision for plural works and sensorial patchworks.

I believe in the cathartic action and in a theatre that resembles a Shamanic ceremony which is able to modify us.

The artistic representation together with the intimate encounter do share the capacity to enter our invisible and hidden intentions, our desires so as to create confusion, shake one’s preconceived ideas, one’s beliefs don to one’s deepest archaic  patterns. When such turmoil occurs within us, everything can happen. The metamorphosis may take place. This is a powerful, at times violent phenomena and some of us do not like to be confronted with it.

Yet, by inviting the audience to such a ceremony, dramatic action may start.”

My theatrical approach is driven by the preoccupation of creating a theatrical language that is capable of  “provoking a strong affective and intellectual reaction (…) even if such reactions might bring forth discomfort or pain”.

The visceral characteristics of my theatre and writing resemble that of Renaissance’s, that of the Theatre of cruelty. I am close to Sarah Kane’s words  “the actor and the audience dive into hell in their imagination so that they might not go there in real life”.

This theatrical legacy, together with my personal experience, have drawn my conviction that actions and unusual, unconventional, extreme situations on stage can provoke a revelation or a metamorphosis in the spectators mind, body, and their place in the social and political world.
